Mind Architects is as an insight to the inner workings of our
minds. The tendency to overthink things and the work it takes to stay in control of that, is often completely overwhelming. Throughout the song Amy can be heard trying to reason with herself and by the end there are all of these layers representing her thoughts; the problems, the negativity and the confusion building up and up until an emotive proverbial explosion. That final cry of ‘woah’ is her breaking through all the noise. Fading out to one final thought. A breath. A positive moment, filled with hope that she can finally find peace and ‘normality’.
We as humans often ignore the ultimate purpose of the mind, allowing an unhealthy teetering of the balance between emotion and logic. The song was born of our partiality to allow emotion to trump logic. On the other hand, it carries a warning not to slip too far the other way.
Mental health plays a big part in our lives and we hope this song can give someone the escape they need.
